Stenshuvud is a rocky outcrop around halfway up Skåne’s eastern coastline, and the highest point along that shore, located pretty much midway between Vik to the south and Kivik to the north.

A national park and nature reserve since the turn of the century, Stenshuvud—which translates roughly as “head of stone”—is a fine place for an afternoon’s wandering, with meadows dotted through the woodland, and a fine sandy beach (which can be a bit crowded).

While the view from the top is well worth the climb, we note with regret that it is only accessible to fairly modern mobility assistance devices… and it can be quite a struggle even for those with the use of all their limbs, particularly at the height of summer.
