Östra Göinge kommun sits to the north of Kristianstad, with Hässleholm to the southwest. A mid-sized and largely rural region, its two major towns are Broby and Knislinge. Broby has long been famed for its two annual markets, which have seen a resurgence in their size and popularity in recent years; the popularity of nature-centric activities in this part of the country is attested by the town’s museum dedicated to all things “outdoors”.
