Höör

Höör itself does not have much to offer the casual visitor, though the local guesthouses and hostelries will be glad to put you up while you explore the surrounding woodlands.

Höör is the heartland of Skåne’s Heartlands. Situated to the north of the twinned lakes of Ringsjön, it’s a quiet rural town, and that’s what a lot of its residents like most about it. The kommun which also bears its name stretches south, along and beyond the strip of land between the two lakes, and spreads out to the north into extensive stretches of managed forest.

In truth, Höör itself does not have much to offer the casual visitor, though the local guesthouses and hostelries will be glad to put you up while you explore the surrounding woodlands; this is one of the possible bases from which you might investigate the sometimes secretive villages of the Heartlands region.

But be sure to book well in advance—because when there’s a big event at the Holma Terrestrial Center on the northern edge of the town, you’ll be lucky if you can rent a patch of grass to pitch a tent.
