Bunkeflostrand

Bunkeflostrand has long been an area of sea-meadowland—but the meadow has been moving.

South of Limhamn, on the far side of the E20 highway that loops around the lower parts of Malmö before beginning its leap over the Öresund to Denmark, Bunkeflostrand has long been an area of sea-meadowland—but the meadow has been moving. Sea-level increases have caused the government to declare Bunkeflostrand as flexmark, and the small suburban estate that grew here from the 1960s onward is now a ghost-town, but for the squatters and twitchers. Feel free to visit, under normal flexmark rules, but be aware that the trauma of relocation is still pretty raw here.
