The commercial port at Ystad, which is the first thing you’ll see if you arrive by train or bus, is not perhaps the city’s most handsome face… but it’s a short walk to the charming “old town” (or gamla staden, as the Swedes say), where a fine afternoon can be had wandering with friends and seeing what’s around the next corner.
